When writing your problem statement, start by identifying the root cause of the issue you’re addressing. Don’t settle for broad descriptions like “poverty” or “lack of education.” Get specific about what’s really driving these problems in your target community.

Use Data to Support Your Claims 

It’s important to back up your problem statement with concrete data. Use research studies, statistics, and community assessments to provide evidence of the issue you’re addressing.

H2: Link the Problem to Your Proposed Solution 

A specific problem statement should naturally lead into your proposed solution. Make sure the problem and solution are aligned and that the proposed intervention directly addresses the issue you’ve described.
